KitchenAid Oven Troubleshooting

Fortunately, some issues with your KitchenAid oven can be fixed easily at home. This guide can help you determine if it’s a simple solution or a technician is needed.

Reset The Oven

Most issues with Kitchen Aid ovens occur in the electrical components, even for those that use gas. If you are getting an error message, resetting the oven should always be your first step. Some of these issues can be repaired by resetting the oven. To complete this repair, remove the power from the oven. You can do this by unplugging the oven from the electrical outlet, or turning off power from the breaker box.

Leave the oven off for at least five minutes.

Return the power and allow the oven a chance to “boot up.”

If the error message returns, further troubleshooting is necessary to solve the problem.

Error Codes: F0, FO, F1, FI, F0-E0, F1-E1

These errors occur when there is a problem with the Electronic Range Control (ERC). The ERC is essentially the oven’s computer. If resetting the oven did not solve the problem the ERC will need to be replaced. This type of repair is best completed by a certified professional.

Error Codes: F03, F12, F22

When you see this error, it indicates a problem with the key pad.  Disconnect the power from the oven. Carefully clean the key pad with a damp (but not wet!) cloth. Wipe the keypad with a dry cloth. Return power to the oven. If the error returns, the keypad may need to be replaced.

Error Codes: F5 (and all four digit codes starting with 5)

Issues with the door latch are indicated by F5 errors. Sometimes these errors can be resolved by thoroughly cleaning the door latch. Make sure to disconnect power to the oven before attempting any repairs.
